OurBill

Shared expenses, explained to the cent.

OurBill is a full-stack shared-expense platform I built for households, couples, trips, events, and teams. Members can create groups, invite collaborators, record expenses, income, transfers, and settlements, and split transactions equally, by exact amount, percentage, shares, or adjustments. Every balance is backed by an auditable zero-sum ledger and explained in plain language, so users can see who paid, who participated, and why someone owes a specific amount. The app also supports multiple payers, multi-currency transactions with stored exchange rates, recurring transactions, draft review, calendar scheduling, settlement suggestions, role-based access, and activity history. Financial records are voided instead of deleted, preserving a reliable audit trail. I built OurBill as a strict TypeScript monorepo using Next.js, React, Supabase, and PostgreSQL. Authorization is enforced with row-level security, financial mutations run atomically in the database, inputs are validated with Zod, and the core accounting engine is covered by unit and end-to-end tests.
